INSTRUCTORS

Kimmy
My name is Kim Garza and I own and operate The Pole Barn.
I am the instructor for our liquid motion floorwork classes, conditioning, water aerobics, heelwork and choreo classes, and our first level of pole classes which is Mission Impossible.
My passion is heelwork and liquid motion which is primarily a floor flow movement. I discovered the pole several years ago and immediately fell in love with everything about it. I am certified in all levels of Liquid Motion including Liquid Heels. I have competed in 4 competitions in the exotic category as well as in 1 competition in the doubles category. I was so honored to have placed each time I performed.
As I have grown as an instructor and student of pole, I am passionate about teaching proper execution and showing students the conditioning exercises that will help prevent injury as well as the correct ways of body engagement that will keep you on an upward trajectory in your pole journey.
Rose and Ely
Rose is our instructor for Launch. Launch is the class you will enter after Mission Impossible. In this class, you will continue to build strength, working on inverted spaces, knee holds, spin pole passes, and climbing. Pre-Reqs: You should be able to have a solid climb to the middle of the pole, have a solid pole sit, jasmine, chair spin, apprentice and be familiar with fan kicks.
Ely is our instructor for Take Flight. Launch is the class you will take prior to Take Flight. This is an aerial class. You will learn tricks from elevated positions on the pole. You will work on many static and spin combos as well as starting to work in more inverted spaces and tricks with 2 points of contact. Pre-Reqs: Comfortably climb to the top of the pole, hold a solid jasmine, pole sit and apprentice on both sides as well as drop into an invert on both sides.

Lina
Lina is our instructor for Stratosphere, pole conditioning/flexibility and specialty class instructor.
Lina started her pole journey while living in Key West in 2012 when a friend gave her a free pass to a local studio. She bought her home pole 3 months later and dove into her obsession! Since then, Lina has competed and performed in both doubles and individual pole categories. Having taken a year off from 2 pregnancies since 2015, she knows what it feels like to be a beginner 3 times over and tries to keep this in mind when instructing and motivating students. Having worked in clubs in her younger years, she also has a major respect for the profession as a whole and the influences that exotic pole has on contemporary movements. she tries to maintain this respect within her classes, recognizing that everyone comes to this sport from a different perspective and all of them are valid. Her focus is on strength and active flexibility, believing that these are the foundations to gain those show stopping tricks on everyone's bucket list. Come join her on Thursdays to progress your own pole journey!
